Even if you're not going away, school holidays give dads a chance to have a shed load of fun with the kids. There's plenty of places to visit and things to do that will bring joy and laughter to young and old alike. My son and I sit down and make a plan of all the places we want to visit, the people we want to see and the things we want to do. We find planning ahead prevents the question 'what shall we do today?' and the inevitable answer of 'dunno'. You don't have to spend a fortune. An adventure walk in the countryside or around the town can be just as entertaining as riding roller-coasters at a theme park, and more imaginative too. If you're a working dad, take a day off and spend it with the kids but do it without mum. You'll have great fun!
